ROAD TO St. JOHN'S
During the summer of 2017, Tak Bui, a Toronto artist, set out in a van to travel to Newfoundland. where he stopped often to draw on-site the dramatic landscape and its fascinating inhabitants. Presented in the tradition of the travel sketchbook, Tak Bui's sixty pen and ink drawings are detailed, depictions of the Rock as the island of Newfoundland is also known. It's a hauntingly beautiful place, that holds a strong fascination for many.
The Newfoundland drawings are the first installment of Tak Bui's on going project: A Canadian Travel Log, which will take him across this country's vast and diverse landscape.
